In 1983 I attended a Taijiquan workshop. At that time of my life my idea of exercise was based around running, circuit training, swimming and Rugby. So I was amazed that after standing in Wu Chi posture for about 10 minutes, I began to tremble and quiver like a jelly. The more I tried to hold the posture, the tougher it became, and quite frankly I found it exhausting.

Watching the instructor perform a Taijiquan form in a seemingly effortless way captivated me.
